There are loads of walks in and around and nearby to Mistydawn! Refer to our in-house maps for some ideas.

Loads of hikes for all physical levels and adventurers. Some a bit further away than others, but certainly worth the road trip. Ask your hostess for some recommendations!

The farm itself is home to an amazing collection of birds. Just sitting in the garden you will be treated to an array of feathered friends, predators included.

Magoebaskloof is one of South Africa’s premier birding destinations, offering access to over 300 indigenous species across diverse habitats including mistbelt forests, grasslands, and riverine valleys.

Vist Mountain Fly Fishing, Cheerio Trout fishing (walking distance from the cottage!)  or Silvermist Resort and soon.... even fish from the dam on the farm!

There are incredible spots to indulge in some culinary delights both near and a little bit further out, if you are after something specific. You can also arrange to collect your food and then sit at the cottage and enjoy the views. Cheerio Cafe is walking distance from the farm and it makes the perfect pitstop after a walkabout for some of their amazing pizza, and various other delights on their menu. Zwakala Brewery do an amazing burger if that's more your thing!

A wonderful  afternoon out.  Take a tour, taste the local brew, eat delicious craft food and enjoy the sights and sounds at Zwakala Brewery. An amazing place to take the kiddos as there is a play area, as well as child friendly food, snack, ice cream and drinks. The staff are a particularly notable visit! They will make you feel like you've been there all along!

Magoebaskloof offers premier mountain biking in Limpopo. It features scenic and challenging routes through pine plantations, indigenous forests and along the Ebenezer Dam. 

Magoebaskloof Canopy Tour in Georges Valley is a 25 minute drive from the cottage, alternatively there is a kiddies zipline at Magoebaskloof Farmstall, or a short drive to Silvermist Resort for their Acrobranch adventure.

Haenertsburg and its surrounds have a few lovely shopping experiences. From the gift shops in town, the book shop, to just everyday buys at Chandlers in the village, you are spoilt for choice. Remember to pop into the farmstalls and shops at Zwakala or Blueberry Heights for some goodies. 

Check out Dirt - earth to art and join a pottery class, or paint an item to take home with you. There are also yoga classes on offer. Call to check the schedule.

Buy some cheese, go on a dairy tour, sample a cheese platter, all right next door to Mistydawn farm. Call to book, or check the opening hours.
